DuckDuckGo Working on a Bill to Stop Advertisers from Tracking Online

“Do Not Track” OR DNT was first introduced in 2009. The purpose was ” if the user/visitor of a website don’t want to be tracked by online ads, then they should be able to say so, and websites should honor that preference.”. It was modeled after the Do Not Call list used by the telemarketers. But over time – most of the website stop honoring the standard. As a result – your private seachr result does not stay private any more.

Search engine DuckDuckGo’s CEO Gabriel Weinberg has been working on new draft titled The Do-Not-Track Act of 2019 to revive the Do-Not-Track stand rd. If the draft is passed by the law makers – then it will create a huge change in the technology-related business and will certainly bring the consumer privacy back. But it’s a long way to go.
