Human Kidney Delivered by Drone Started a New Organ Delivery System

Baltimore’s Trina Glispy needed a kidney. And have been waiting for 8 years. Finally it was found. The kidney was transferred from  Baltimore’s St. Agnes Hospital to University of Maryland (UMD) medical center by a drone. Even though the distance between these two hospital are 2.7mile and it the flight took only 10 minutes – it was not a technological break though, but a break through for the current organ delivery system.

At the present organ delivery on time is a very difficult problem. Most of the time the delivery gets delayed. The success of this delivery – will be use an example to change the organ delivery system. Hopefully it will save more life.Dr. Joseph R.
