Ghost or Fake Job Postings: A Job Seeker’s Nightmare!

UFO-Flying-Over-Town-by-Lake

The Problem: Ghost Job Postings

Ever applied for a job and never heard back? You may have encountered a ghost job posting—an ad for a position that doesn’t even exist! These misleading posts waste your time and effort, leaving you in the dark. It’s called “ghosting,” and it’s becoming all too common in the job market.

What’s Really Going On?

Ghost job postings have flooded the white-collar world, and they’re not just accidental. Companies often use these phantom listings to make themselves look like they’re growing or to keep their current employees motivated. Sometimes, they’re even building a talent pool for the future. Believe it or not, surveys show that up to 80% of job postings might be fake!

Why Is This a Big Deal?

Ghost job postings create a ripple of problems:
– Wasted Effort: You spend time crafting the perfect application for a job that doesn’t exist.
– False Hope: Getting excited about a job opportunity, only to be ghosted, is frustrating and demotivating.
– Privacy Risks: Sharing your personal details with these fake posts can lead to potential misuse.
Ghost Job Postings: The Hidden Trap for Job Seekers

Who Can Fix This?

Governments and industry leaders have a big role to play. They could:
– Regulate: Put rules in place to ensure companies post real, up-to-date jobs.
– Monitor: Create systems that catch and remove fake postings.
– Raise Awareness: Teach job seekers how to spot ghost jobs and protect themselves.

The Fallout: How It Hurts Everyone

For job seekers, it’s a double whammy—emotionally and financially:
– Frustration & Disappointment:** Constantly applying for non-existent jobs leaves people demoralized.
– Wasted Time: All that effort could’ve gone into real opportunities.
– Privacy Threats: You never know where your personal info might end up.

For companies, it’s not much better:
– Reputation Damage: If job seekers catch on that you’re posting fake jobs, it can tarnish your brand.
– Resource Drain: Time spent on fake listings could be used more productively.

The Fix: How We Can All Do Better

For Companies:
– Be Honest: Clearly state if the job is for future hires.
– Stay Updated: Regularly refresh your listings and remove outdated ones.
– Be Ethical: Fair hiring practices keep your reputation intact.

For Job Seekers:
– Do Your Homework: Research the company and make sure the job is real.
– Network: Tap into your professional circles to find genuine job leads.
– Stay Safe: Be cautious about giving out personal information.

The Bottom Line

Ghost job postings are a growing issue, affecting job seekers and companies alike. While some businesses use them to prepare for future needs, the frustration, privacy risks, and potential damage to their reputation should make them think twice. Job seekers must stay sharp and rely on trustworthy sources to avoid getting ghosted!
In short: Be smart, stay vigilant, and don’t let the ghost jobs get you!

The Shocking Truth About Neuralink: Elon Musk’s Brain Implant Experiments on Monkeys

Neuralink, the brain-computer interface company founded by Elon Musk, has been gaining attention for its ambitious goals of merging humans and machines. It claims to offer solutions for neurological disorders, cognitive enhancement, and even telepathic communication. However, beneath the surface lies a disturbing reality: Neuralink’s experiments on monkeys have resulted in suffering, brain damage, infections, paralysis, and euthanasia.

Behind Closed Doors

An investigation by Wired recently unveiled the dark side of Neuralink’s work. The company has been conducting tests using brain implants on rhesus macaques at the California National Primate Research Center (CNPRC) at UC Davis. Veterinary records obtained by Wired reveal the grim details of the monkeys’ experiences after receiving these implants.

A Grim Toll

The records show that as many as a dozen monkeys either died or were euthanized due to complications related to the brain implants. These complications included brain swelling, partial paralysis, device failure, and infections associated with the implants.

Heart-Wrenching Cases

Among the heartbreaking incidents, one stands out – the case of Animal 20. During surgery in December 2019, an internal part of the brain implant broke off, leading to self-inflicted injuries as the monkey scratched and pulled at the implant. The wound became infected, but its location made removal impossible, leading to euthanasia in January 2020.

Another Tragic Tale: Animal 15

Animal 15, a female monkey, received a brain implant in February 2019. Soon after, she exhibited troubling behaviors, pressing her head against the ground, picking at her wound until it bled, and losing coordination. She displayed signs of stress and fear when personnel entered her room. A CT scan later revealed brain bleeding around the implant site, leading to euthanasia in March 2019.

A Pattern Emerges

These are just two examples of the distressing outcomes Neuralink’s experiments had on monkeys. Contrary to Musk’s claims that these monkeys were in terminal conditions, records indicate they were young and healthy before the surgeries.

Neuralink’s Response

In response to these allegations, Neuralink published a blog post acknowledging the euthanasia of eight monkeys out of 23 but denying any abuse or neglect. The company stated its commitment to ethical treatment of animals and defended the necessity of animal research before human trials.

Unconvinced Critics

Critics and animal rights groups remain skeptical, opposing any form of animal experimentation. They argue that Neuralink’s devices not only raise ethical concerns but also pose potential risks and uncertainties when applied to humans.

Facing the Future

The controversy surrounding Neuralink’s experiments on monkeys brings to light the company’s technology and its implications for humanity’s future. While some view Neuralink as a groundbreaking innovation with potential for human-machine collaboration, others see it as an intrusion into the realms of life and consciousness. As Neuralink approaches human trials, it must confront these questions and challenges head-on.

error 021 – February 16, 2021 Canada Revenue Agency Locks Online Accounts

Canada Revenue Agency

February 16, 2021 CRA or Canada Revenue Agency has locked it’s online account – for more than 100,000 users. The reason is – users’ email address has been removed from their online account.

For those who are not familiar with CRA – “CRA or The Canada Revenue Agency is the revenue service of the Government of Canada. The CRA collects taxes, administers tax law and policy, and delivers benefit programs and tax credits for the federal government and most provincial and territorial governments”.

Affected user tried to call the customer service to get their accounts unlocked, but had to wait a long time – some even more than three hours. They did not receive any reasonable explanation from the help line. Worried users vent their frustration in social media platforms – saying they all encounter “error 021”.

February 17, 2021 CRA spokesperson Christopher Doody said in an email – “An internal analysis revealed evidence that some account credentials (i.e. user IDs and passwords) may have been compromised, and may be available for use by unauthorized individuals,”

Also assured that CRA not been the target of a cyberattack. But that affected the user’s credentials may have been breached from another online account.

Last year August 2020, CRA had a similar incident and they had to shuts down online services. The shutdown blocks Canadians from applying for some emergency COVID-19 benefits. User email addresses (one that is registered with CRA), direct deposit information was altered.

It seems like – attackers have been using the similar technique for each attack. And CRA is only “patching” their security protocols.

COVID19 Nadia and Other

Answer – Can the corona virus be transferred through items bought from China

A four-year-old female Malayan tiger named Nadia at the Bronx (New York, USA) Zoo has tested positive for the coronavirus. This is believed to be the first known case of an animal infected with Covid-19 in the US.

This raised lots of new questions –

Is other animals are infected also ?
What about house pets ?
What if our pets get infected and we have no clue about that.
What if firm animals get infected ? can we eat their meat/milk/eggs ?

And here is the most vital question- can we ‘human’ get infected from these infected ? If the answer is yes – then we are facing a new danger.

Our current tactics may not work.

Answer – Can the corona virus be transferred through items bought from China

Answer – Can the corona virus be transferred through items bought from China

When ever we have any “health outbreak” – misleading (don’t want to use the word “rumor”) information start spreading like wildfire.

I really like to think that people who spread these “misleading” information – do this to help others.

But the reality is, if we are not a specialist on a subject (eg. medical professional) – then we should not share information about that subject. As in most cases these misleading information become more harmful than the “outbreak” itself.

For the last few days – I have been receiving information from people about corona virus . And most of these information I received, falls in to “misleading information” category.

One of the common information I receive is
“Can the corona virus be transferred through items bought from China ?”

After spending some time I was able to get some “reliable information”. Here is the summary –

  • There is no evidence this is a risk (from items bought from China).
  • To get infected with corona virus, we require close contact with another person.

Here is the full detail –

There is no evidence this is a risk. Some diseases – including the coronavirus that causes Sars – can spread through surfaces contaminated by people coughing or sneezing on them.

It has not been shown this new coronavirus can do that. Even if it could, there would still be questions about whether international shipping would be a major problem.

Cold viruses tend to survive less than 24 hours outside the human body although norovirus (a severe stomach bug) can last months outside the body.

The most reassuring fact so far is that cases seem to require close contact with another person – say, a family member or healthcare worker – in order to spread.
